WHO IS LXNNY?

Written By: Michael Stover

North Carolina artist Lxnny may not have a family history rooted in music, but is in fact paving and creating his own way to influence generations for years to come. Lxnny would actually begin playing his first instrument in 3rd grade, the trombone. At home, his mother didn’t like hip-hop, it was through trips to see family with his Dad that he was exposed to the universal genre. Lxnny would sneak and watch BET with his cousins watching 106 & Park. Between mix CD’s from classmates and his mom grabbing him a Ludacris’ CD it was only a matter of time before our hero would transform into the artist he is today.

Lxnny would play the trombone from 3rd grade all the way up to the point he left for college. The music knowledge he was obtaining growing up would translate to him creating beat tapes. In fact Lxnny had the idea to create a series inspired by Mike Will Made It’s tape “Ransom”. In a blessing and a curse fashion, Lxnny was waiting too long for verses to get back so he took it upon himself to begin emceeing and has been doing so ever since. After working on a few beat tapes and albums Lxnny would tear his achilles and leave him discouraged from making music as he was recovering. Just as he was getting back up on his feet, his father would tragically pass away. His original debut album title was “777” eventually changed to the “Catharsis” title we see today.

With “Catharsis” Lxnny showed that he could create music on his own both lyrically and from a production standpoint, especially in the face of the hardships our hero had to face. Somehow, some way Lxnny still was not satisfied, so much so that he challenged himself. Lxnny wanted to up the ante for himself. Faster raps, sampleless, perfect the flows, change the energy, enter “14K Italian Gold”. Inspired by his late grandmother’s bracelet Lxnny holds this project in confidence and brings his story full circle. The prolific nature instilled in him at an early age shines through on 14K, the confidence given from the mountains of tragedy our hero has climbed comes through on 14K. All of this and more landed Lxnny on Swidlife’s Playlist with his track Beltiva Raps. As the North Carolina artist is entering the prolific lane he’s amassed close to 10K streams over the course of his career so far. Lxnny is clearly just getting started and realized he’s the talent he’s been working towards his entire life. The grind won’t stop in 2020 either make sure you’re tuned in.
